Penna Lane 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon has won the trophy for best cabernet at the 2009 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards which were judged in Canberra in July.
Lester Jesberg, the Chairman of Judges, had this to say about our wine: "It was something of a surprise to find that a Clare cabernet had trumped Margaret River's hottest contender. Surpriseor not, this wine deserved top spot on the day. Its vibrant cassis varietal fruit together with the opulence and suppleness of palate won strong support from the judges. This is a seamless, beautifully made young cabernet that is enjoyable now, but will reward cellaring. Excellent Value."
